OPTIMIZING NATURAL RESOURCES THROUGH BUILDING DESIGN. ELIZABETH GRACE.
EEL

I was trapped inside my coffin.
Caught between life and death, Surrounded by heartbeats pumping. Like a fever dream, unsure if it was warm or cold, Like a fetus scared of being born and growing old. Â
I trekked to get comfortable but there was no such, That intense intimacy my body found to be too much, In an effort to move as to disperse, I fumbled around but didn’t accomplish much.Â
I took a deep breath, Looking around what looked to be a Chinese finger trap, I stopped struggling and looked right up ahead, At the light beyond the tunnel, inviting me to escape my death.
It was so wet I was dry, The tightness all around me gripped my body as I tried not to cry, In pleasure or pain I wasn’t sure, it was disguised, Could this be the line between hell and paradise?Â
There wasn’t much beyond skin, The layers between pumping hearts were only so thin, With blood and sweat hushing in between, Condensation dripping, lost in the wetness it was within. Â
